About

The spectacular cabins are the gateway to the route network in the Frafjord hills on the south side of Lysefjord. Skåpet is also the first or last cabin on the hike Lysefjorden Rundt, a week-long walk around Lysefjorden that passes the world-famous attractions Preikestolen, Kjerag and Flørli’s 4444 steps. Only 1.5 hours away from the car park in Vinddalen by foot, Skåpet is a great place for families with children or others who want to go on a weekend trip.

The Skåpet concept consists of a main cabin with a common living room and kitchen, 2 bedrooms with 2 and 4 beds respectively and a loft with 6 mattresses. Note that none of these beds can be booked. But that is not an issue when you can book your own little cabin! 6 smaller cabins are located as independent satellites in the terrain around the main cabin. Each of the small cabins has five beds (2 beds + a loft) andis booked as a unit, with a fixed price per cabin regardless of the number of guests. (max 5 people per cabin) All cabins have solid panoramic windows, which face the small lake Soddatjørn. In each cabin, you will find a wood-burning stove and two of the cabins have dog crates. Skåpet is self-serviced cabin, meaning that there is a food supply store here.

Skåpet is equipped with the necessities for cooking and overnight stays. You will find kitchen utensils, tableware, duvets and pillows, but you must bring your own bedlinen (duvet cover, sheet and pillowcase) or sheet sleeping bag.

There is solar power so you can turn on the lights, but in winter there is not enough sun to charge the batteries, so a headtorch will be necessary. There is gas for cooking, wood for burning in the stove and candles. After a hike you can enjoy both the sauna and outdoor shower.
