Preikestolen Cruise & Hike
Take a cruise on the Lysefjord. Then hike to Preikestolen.
An unbeatable combination!
About
This day trip offers three spectacular experiences in one. Our new electric boat first takes you on a fjord cruise through beautiful Lysefjord. Sailing in the near silence of a battery-powered boat in such stunning scenery makes the experience even more special.
On the way to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), we stop to feed our goats grazing on the mountainside. With luck, we might even see a seal basking in the sun on the rocky shore. Then we see Fantahålå (Vagabond’s Cave) where the “vagrants” hid from the sheriff in the old days. Shortly afterward, we see magnificent Preikestolen, 604 meters above our boat, a little while before you hike up to enjoy the view from the top. Then we continue to the mighty Hengjanefossen waterfall where the crew steers the boat so close to the towering falls that you might feel its refreshing spray on your face!
After a fjord cruise filled with good experiences, a bus picks you up at Forsand and takes you to Preikestolen lodge at the trailhead for the hike up to the world-famous Preikestolen plateau. The hike takes roughly two hours each way and is an unforgettable adventure! Return to Stavanger by bus through the world’s longest underwater tunnel.
Our modern, comfortable boats have sundecks, spacious cabins and kiosks offering refreshments, including beer and wine. The kiosk offers fresh and tempting baked goods from our local bakery, Kanelsnurren.
