About

This unique day tour combines a relaxing fjord cruise to Lysefjord with a hike to the iconic Preikestolen plateau. Leave your car behind and board Rødne’s purpose-built sightseeing boat for a sustainable fjord adventure!

Rødne’s modern and comfortable boat features large sundecks and a spacious indoor cabin with a snack bar, offering refreshments and tempting baked goods from a local bakery, Kanelsnurren.

Gliding silently and swiftly into stunning scenery, you’ll sail into majestic Lysefjord and admire steep mountains, waterfalls, the Vagabond’s Cave (Fantahålå) and of course impressive Preikestolen towering 604 meters above the fjord.

After taking in this spectacular rock formation from the fjord, it’s time to get ready for a panoramic mountain hike. The boat docks at Forsand, where a short bus transfer takes you to the Preikestolen BaseCamp trailhead. The self-guided hike to the world-famous Preikestolen plateau takes roughly two hours each way and is an unforgettable experience.

Your memorable day trip concludes with a scenic bus ride of just under an hour, returning you to Stavanger via the world’s longest underwater road tunnel.
