About

Nestled among mountains and lakes in the scenic Dalen valley, just a 10-minute drive from Jørpeland, Dalen Lefsebakeri is a wonderful stop for anyone interested in authentic Norwegian flavours and local craftsmanship.

The bakery's story began in 1997, when three generations of women started making lefse using traditional family recipes. Today, owner Laila Ravndal continues this heritage, producing a delicious selection of handmade baked goods, including soft lefse filled with sweet buttercream, traditional saupskolt, Nordlandslefse, potato cakes and other regional specialities.

Visitors are welcome to explore the small, self-service bakery shop, where freshly baked and frozen treats are available alongside a selection of products from other local producers. Pick up something delicious for your next hike, enjoy a taste of Norwegian tradition, or bring home a special edible souvenir.

For a more hands-on experience, Dalen Lefsebakeri also offers traditional lefse-making courses. Learn how to roll, bake and prepare this beloved Norwegian speciality using traditional techniques. The Bake Like a Local experience is available in English and Norwegian, making it a memorable activity for international visitors.
