Revså Kai has an important role in the history of Preikestolen and is an old gateway to the hike up to Preikestolen before the road to Vatne Gard and Preikestolhytta, now known as Preikestolen BaseCamp, was built. The pier, restored and -opened in 2018 is located just past Fantahola.

The trail from Revså Kai up and along Revsvatnet to Preikestolen BaseCamp is approximately 3.5 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of around 250 meters. Along the way, you can see the remnants of a cable car that was used to transport building materials to the old Preikestolhytta after World War II. The trail provides a unique experience and is suitable for those who want a challenge while also enjoying the beautiful nature.
For those in good shape and with plenty of time, the hike from Preikestolen BaseCamp to the actual Preikestolen can be an additional 4 kilometers long, with an elevation gain of approximately 500 meters.
