SOKKANUTEN

Hike hidden Sokkanuten to get a unique perspective on the mouth of the Lysefjord. From the top, you can see about 50% of the fjord, its only two islands, the towns of Forsand and Oanes, and the Lysefjord bridge.
From Lysefjorden hyttegrend, we have marked a nice roundtrip to the top and back. The trailhead is located at the parking lot behind the reception. The first part follows the old route between Levik and Høllesli, through sparse mixed forest. The trail goes steeply up a moraine ridge. When the birch forest give way for bearberry shrubs, the views open up. Just below you, you can see the Lysefjord bridge. The last stretch towards the top, you walk on bare rock. It can be slippery when wet!
From the top, the roundtrip trail turns northwards along the ridge and down from the saddle towards to cultivated fields east of Erevika. Return via the small pond of Eikelitjødna.
