SOLLIFJELLET
See Preikestolen from the front! At the southern shore of the Lysefjord, at the end of the narrow, winding and spectacular road from Forsand, lies the hidden gem Sollifjell. Although the hike is relatively short, you are at the heart of the Lysefjord. A somewhat steep climb to the summit makes the views on the Lysefjord and Preikestolen even more worth it.
Temporarily closed by the landowner because too many hikers ignored the rule to keep dogs on a leash.
From Skrøylå, the trail follows a gravel road through forestry terrain. Along the road, you have good views on Fossmark and the Lysefjord. After approximately 1 kilometer, the landscape opens up and you meet the river, to be crossed on a narrow bridge. Here, it is nice to quench your thirst and take a short break before you start the ascent. The trail, marked with cairns, leads you through terrain consisting of bare bedrock, heather and dense vegetation. At times, the trail is quite steep.
As you gain elevation, the landscape changes character. Higher up, bedrock dominates. You’ll pass small, idyllic natural ponds. At the summit, expect great views on large parts of the Lysefjord. On the opposite side, Neverdalsfjellet and Preikestolen can be seen, along with Hengjane and Bratteli.
Return following the same way you came up.

Driving directions and Parking
Driving south from Oanes or Jørpeland, cross the Lysefjord bridge. Turn right, right after Liahammar tunnel, and follow the signs to Fossmork. When driving north from Forsand, turn left just before the Liahammar tunnel.
Follow the road along the Lysefjord (11 km), before turning right and driving steeply up to Skrøylå Parking (another 1.5 km). You’ll find the car park at the end of the road.
Public Transportation
Kolumbus – speed ferry
Departure from Lauvvik, Songesand, Flørli and Lysebotn to Lysebotn. (all year)
NOTE! There is no public transport from Forsand to Skrøylå Parking / the trailhead. However, it is possible to rent electric bicycles through Verken Lysefjorden. It’s a 16 km bike ride from Forsand to Skrøylå.
Gedragscode van Lysefjord
Plan je reis op basis van je mogelijkheden en de actuele omstandigheden. Houd het weer in de gaten en volg het advies van de lokale bevolking op.
Wees voorbereid en neem de nodige uitrusting mee, waaronder goede schoenen, regen- en winddichte kleding, een zaklamp, muts, handschoenen en een extra set warme kleding. Wees voorbereid op het onverwachte. Neem een rugzak mee met een lunchpakket, extra snacks en water.
Laat geen sporen achter. Neem niets mee behalve foto's en laat niets achter behalve voetafdrukken. Gedraag je verantwoordelijk en houd rekening met het welzijn van andere wandelaars en de natuur.
Neem een kaart mee. Volg de gemarkeerde paden en let op de borden en informatiepanelen onderweg. Als je verdwaalt, let dan op steenhoopjes of rode T-vormige markeringen. Maak alsjeblieft geen eigen steenhoopjes.
