Bygningene p\u00e5 g\u00e5rden er ikke synlige fra sj\u00f8en, men det er en brygge ved sj\u00f8en hvor fergen stopper for bes\u00f8kende. Kulturlandskapet med steingjerder og \u00e5kre vitner om hardt arbeid for \u00e5 skaffe mat. Til tross for at Bakken g\u00e5rd aldri hadde hester eller maskiner, var det en daglig kamp \u00e5 holde g\u00e5rden i gang. Likevel \u00f8nsket folket p\u00e5 Bakken velkommen hundrevis av bes\u00f8kende hvert \u00e5r. Fra slutten av 1800-tallet begynte turister \u00e5 bes\u00f8ke Bakken. Det st\u00f8rste antallet turister kom p\u00e5 1920-tallet og frem til andre verdenskrig.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_row et_pb_row_3 et_pb_gutters3  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_2_3 et_pb_column et_pb_column_5  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_4  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>G\u00e5rden hadde eget sagbruk i Skurv\u00e5na og eget kraftverk som forsynte g\u00e5rden med str\u00f8m. P\u00e5 1920-tallet ble Bakken egen drift, og samtidig ble det bygget et nytt bolighus. De siste brukerne av g\u00e5rden var s\u00f8sknene Johannes og Gjertrud Bakken. Etter at Gjertrud d\u00f8de, ble det ensomt for Johannes, og han valgte \u00e5 forlate g\u00e5rden en morgen h\u00f8sten 1973. Han gikk til Songesand og flyttet inn hos Hatleskog-familien, og etter dette ga han g\u00e5rden til Forsand kommune. Han ble f\u00f8dt i 1779 p\u00e5 den lille fjellg\u00e5rden Bakken i Lysefjorden, og tilbrakte barndommen i n\u00e6r kontakt med naturen og dyrelivet i fjellene rundt hjemmet sitt. Som barn deltok han i jakten p\u00e5 rovdyr, noe som skulle bli en lidenskap som skulle f\u00f8lge ham gjennom hele livet.<\/p>\n<p>Mens han tjenestegjorde i milit\u00e6ret, skadet Ole venstre fot og ble utskrevet. N\u00e5r han m\u00f8tte folk, pleide han \u00e5 hilse dem med \"Her kommer jeg haltende\", noe som ga ham kallenavnet Pilt-Ola eller \u201chaltende Ola\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etter milit\u00e6rtjenesten flyttet Pilt-Ola til Stavanger og ble en del av n\u00e6ringslivet. I 1808 ble sild oppdaget i Stavanger, og Pilt-Ola begynte \u00e5 handle med den. Han utviklet ogs\u00e5 en metode for \u00e5 salte sild til sj\u00f8s, og tjente gode penger p\u00e5 kornhandelen. Han seilte til Danmark og Russland for \u00e5 selge varene sine, og med pengene kj\u00f8pte han flere g\u00e5rder og kirker i regionen.<\/p>\n<p>Men Pilt-Ola var ikke forn\u00f8yd med \u00e5 bare v\u00e6re en suksessfull forretningsmann. Han var gr\u00fcnder og initierte mange prosjekter rundt om i landet. Han pr\u00f8vde \u00e5 skape arbeidsplasser i Lysefjorden og grunnla en spikerfabrikk i Songesand, et stempleri i Lysebotn og saltfabrikker flere steder i Lysefjorden. Ikke alt var like vellykket, og Ole m\u00f8tte mye motstand, spesielt i sildeindustrien.<\/p>\n<p>Pilt-Ola var ogs\u00e5 dedikert til \u00e5 bekjempe reinrovdyr, spesielt ulver. Han lyktes i stor grad med \u00e5 utrydde ulver i S\u00f8r-Norge ved \u00e5 strategisk plassere forgiftet agn. Han l\u00e5nte penger fra b\u00e5de privatpersoner og \"Selskapet for Norges Vel\" for \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe en flokk med tamrein i Finnmark og etablere en reinflokk i Ryfylke. Halvparten av dyrene d\u00f8de p\u00e5 vei s\u00f8rover, mens han gikk hele veien hjem med dem. Disse dyrene ble opprinnelsen til villreinflokken i Setesdal-Ryfylke.<\/p>\n<p>Pilt-Ola dr\u00f8mte ogs\u00e5 om \u00e5 reise til Amerika, men ikke med b\u00e5t. Han gikk gjennom Sovjetunionen til Korea og helt til Beringstredet, hvor han m\u00f8tte \u00e5pent vann. Han gikk tilbake samme vei som han kom, og syv \u00e5r senere var han tilbake i Stavanger.<\/p>\n<p>Pilt-Ola var ikke bare forretningsmann og eventyrer, men ogs\u00e5 en omsorgsfull og hjelpsom person. Han s\u00e5 muligheter overalt og hadde en utrolig evne til \u00e5 sette ideene sine ut i livet. De var de siste som opprettholdt de tradisjonelle jordbruksmetodene som forfedrene deres hadde gitt dem videre, og de var stort sett selvfors\u00f8rgede. Johannes var en dyktig student som utmerket seg i alle fag, var en tenker og skrev poesi og historier om sine opplevelser mellom fjorden og fjellene.<\/p>\n<p>Gjertrud forlot nesten aldri g\u00e5rden, og selv om en frier en gang tilb\u00f8d seg \u00e5 ta henne med til Amerika, \u00f8dela Johannes billetten fordi han ikke ville v\u00e6re alene p\u00e5 g\u00e5rden. De hadde flere husdyr, fisket i fjorden og produserte h\u00e5ndverk om vinteren.<\/p>\n<p>G\u00e5rden var kjent for sin gjestfrihet, og gamle gjesteb\u00f8ker viser at hundrevis av mennesker bes\u00f8kte den hver sommer. Johannes var en allsidig person som bygde sitt eget kraftverk og sagbruk i Skurve\u00e5na, drev mye jakt, var involvert i motstandsbevegelsen under andre verdenskrig og deltok aktivt i lokalpolitikken i mange \u00e5r. Han bidro ogs\u00e5 til folkelivsunders\u00f8kelser, etnologiske unders\u00f8kelser og registrering av lokale plantenavn.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gjertrud d\u00f8de i 1962, og Johannes i 1982. Med en historie som g\u00e5r tilbake til 1600-tallet, er Bratteli et viktig kulturlandskap med en fantastisk utsikt over fjorden. Bakken g\u00e5rd, som ligger 173 meter over Lysefjorden, kan skryte av en rik historie som g\u00e5r tilbake til slutten av 1700-tallet, og var en gang hjemmet til spennende personligheter som Pilt-Ola (Ole Olsen Sangesand) og s\u00f8sknene Johannes og Gjertrud. I dag har Stavanger Turistforening forvandlet Bakken til en funksjonell hytte, komplett med vedfyrt pizzaovn, langs Lysefjorden Rundt.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div
