Etter noen gode oppoverbakker mellom Sirdal- og Hunnedalen, g\u00e5r det nedover helt til Byrkjedal. Det er imidlertid ofte motvind i denne spektakul\u00e6re, bresk\u00e5rne dalen. Nord for Hunnedalen ligger Frafjordheiane landskapsvernomr\u00e5de, utgangspunktet for mange fine fjellturer \u2013 sommer som vinter. Turen ned til Byrkjedal er vakker. Det er bratte fjellsider langs den vakre Dirdalselva. Store steinblokker ligger spredt rundt som stille vitner til den siste istiden. Byrkjedal er et lite knutepunkt for reisende fra flere kanter. Her kan du slappe av og nyte naturen, et godt m\u00e5ltid og en god natts s\u00f8vn, f\u00f8r den siste etappen tilbake til
