Apr\u00e8s quelques belles mont\u00e9es entre les vall\u00e9es de Sirdal et Hunnedalen, la descente jusqu&#039;\u00e0 Byrkjedal est continue. Cependant, le vent souffle souvent de face dans cette spectaculaire vall\u00e9e glaciaire. Au nord de Hunnedalen se trouve la r\u00e9serve paysag\u00e8re de Frafjordheiane, point de d\u00e9part de nombreuses et magnifiques randonn\u00e9es en montagne, \u00e9t\u00e9 comme hiver. La descente vers Byrkjedal est splendide. On y d\u00e9couvre des flancs de montagne escarp\u00e9s le long de la splendide rivi\u00e8re Dirdal. D&#039;imposants rochers jonchent le sol, t\u00e9moins silencieux de la derni\u00e8re p\u00e9riode glaciaire. Byrkjedal est un petit havre de paix pour les voyageurs venant de diverses directions. On peut s&#039;y d\u00e9tendre, profiter de la nature, savourer un bon repas et passer une nuit r\u00e9paratrice avant d&#039;entamer la derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape du voyage vers la
