Etter noen gode oppoverbakker for \u00e5 komme seg fra Sirdal til Hunnedalen, g\u00e5r det i teori kun nedover. Det er derimot ofte motvind i dette spektakul\u00e6re, breslipte dalf\u00f8re. Nord for Hunnedalen ligger Frafjordheiane landskapsvernomr\u00e5de, utgangspunkt for mange fine fjellturer &#8211; sommer som vinter. Turen ned til Byrkjedal er vakker. Langs den flotte Dirdalselva er det bratte fjellsider. Store steinblokker ligger str\u00f8dd rundt forbi som tause vitner etter siste istid. Byrkjedal er et knutepunkt for reisende fra flere vindretninger. Her kan en slappe av og nyte naturen, en bedre m\u00e5ltid og en god natts s\u00f8vn, f\u00f8r siste etappe tilbake til
